Museo Pambata Branding Materials and Event Planning

For our Media Planning class, I, together with my classmates Edrissa Carating, Hony Esquiral, and Darryl Salonga, created an event plan and basic branding materials for Museo Pambata.

Museo Pambata has been providing learning and enjoyment for children since 1994 but, with all the time that has passed since the museum was established, a lot of changes has also happened. With the further modernization of Metro Manila more and more options have been available for children and families spend their leisure time like malls in particular. This is just one of the other factors that contribute to the museum's decrease in visitors.

With the goal to help increase Museo Pambata's visitors, our class instructor provided us with the brief and tasked us to redesign the museum's basic branding materials (i.e. business card, letterhead, envelope, tickler notebook, and writing material) and create a month-long promotional event plan for the museum. Hence, "Ang Museo at Ako!"

Museo Pambata's logo was designed by UP Fine Arts graduate, Pia Recto. The logo was made with the idea of the sorbetes cart as something that would always excite Filipino Children. Museo Pambata envisions itself to excite children and engage them to learn things with the most possible fun in the same way that the delicious ice cream and the vibrant colors and details of the sorbetes cart would spark eagerness and joy to the children whenever the cart passes by the neighborhood.

With the said idea in mind, this what we did for the redesigning of the basic branding materials.

The visuals involved playful, dynamic, scribbled lines, the way children would scribble on walls of their houses or scattered paper. The same exact colors present in the logo was used for the scribbles.

Children excitedly running after the sorbetes cart was added to further reinforce the logo.
"Ang Museo at Ako!" is a month-long, fund-raising event that will showcase the talents of different Filipino youth across Manila. This will include 2 weeks of school caravans where the museum’s display will be brought outside, a visual and theater art workshop that will commence in 6 elementary schools.
Two students from each schools will be given a chance to either collaborate with one of our 3 visual artists, or perform with the creative musical ensemble of NCCA. During the last week of the event, the artworks will be sold and the proceeds will be given to Childhope Philippines to be used as scholarship grants to deserving underprivileged children all around the country.
Ang Museo at Ako will run for the month of February, 2019, in time for the National Arts Month and the museum’s silver anniversary. The first week of the event will be held on Feb 4-9, the Visual Art Workshop will include a Basic Painting Crash Course spearheaded by Rodel Tapaya, Sculpture will be led by Nemo Aguila, and T-Shirt Design Making by the artists of Artwork PH. The second week will be held on Feb 11-16, together with NCCA and Philippine Educational Theater Association, a one-day basic theater art workshop will be conducted in each chosen schools, enhancing their skills in Music, Dancing and Acting.

We have chosen 6 schools around Manila, namely Legarda Elementary School, Epifanio delos Santos Elementary School, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School, Bagong Diwa Elementary School, Manila Central Adventist, and Metropolitan Academy of Manila.

The main event will be held on Feb 26, inside the museum grounds. The chosen students’ and artists’ collaboration will be displayed and sold as part of the fundraising activity. On the other hand, other students chosen by NCCA and PETA will be given a chance to perform onstage and show their prowess and ability in theater Arts.
